LEARNING THEORY
Knowing about learning theory is not enough. Learning designers need to be able to adapt to a landscape of changing circumstances and modern models of learning. That means being able to design instruction with the right tool for the occasion. The following documents will illustrate my ability to construct a lesson plan with the characteristics of various learning theories. Constructivist Connections
Constructivism involves the idea that people do not passively absorb information. Instead, people actively construct meaning and integrate it with their prior experiences and schematic references. Tracing the connections between scholars who contributed to constructivist ideas is one way to understand how this school of thought came to be. Additionally, familiarity with the emergence of constructivism affords a deeper understanding of the different kinds of constructivism, each with thier own nuances.
